Marina Petrevska
PT, BSc, MScPT, PhD
Marina Petrevska completed an Honours Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Human Biology at the University of Toronto, followed by a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University. She most recently completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Toronto. Marina’s doctoral work focused on exploring the impact of clinic and home-based motor therapies using interactive computer play in children with neuromotor disorders, while employing principles of co-design and mixed methods.
Marina is a registered physiotherapist at the Scarborough Health Network, where she provides care to patients with complex and multi-morbid conditions across a range of clinical services, including acute medicine, orthopaedics, emergency care and stroke rehabilitation.
She is also a Curriculum Lead within the MScPT program at the University of Toronto, contributing to student learning within a distributed education model across the St. George and Scarborough sites. Her role encompasses curriculum planning and integration, teaching and facilitation, as well as education scholarship activities. Marina additionally serves as Academic Co-Lead for Unit 3, where she draws on her clinical expertise and passion for cardiorespiratory physiotherapy to support students in developing foundational knowledge and clinical reasoning skills in this area.
Research & Scholarly Activities
Marina’s current education scholarship focuses on understanding student and faculty experiences of learning and teaching within a semi-distributed education model in the MScPT program. Findings from this work will inform approaches to teaching, learning, and curriculum delivery across the program’s two sites.
