Using a partner-engaged approach to co-design a virtual sport intervention for aging adults with spinal cord injury
Short Bio:
Lovisa Cheung is a PhD Candidate in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Toronto (UofT). Lovisa’s doctoral work focuses on investigating adaptive sport participation for improving physical, psychological, and social well-being in adults aged 50 years or older living with spinal cord injury. Her research incorporates elements of co-design, partner engagement, and rehabilitation strategies to optimize participation.
Robert Buren is a PhD Candidate in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia. In 2008, Robert sustained a spinal cord injury (SCI). In 2013 he became the first paraplegic Canadian to complete a full Ironman triathlon (226 kms), and in 2016 he placed 2nd at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. His PhD studies focus on psychology-based therapies targeting the elimination of chronic pain among individuals with an SCI.
